Fix for strange android bug preventing texting and e-mailing

Several folks have been reporting a weird problem on some Android phones where they could not complete a text message or e-mail after typing between 3 to 6 characters. This strange issue seems to be related to the System Version 4.5.601 and Android Version 2.3.3 updates, the following trick worked for a few of us. Others have noted this issue occurs if you use the back button mid text.

Go to Settings/Application/Manage Applications
Now click on the “All” tab.
Choose the Multi-touch keyboard from the list, then click Clear data.

Hopefully this is a permanent fix and will save some folks from having to send their phones in for warranty and having to pay shipping costs. Because of the nature of these phone returns (using a pre printed shipping label), the USPS employee it is handed to sometimes refuses to give a receipt showing the package was dropped off and if the phone disappears in transit, the phone carrier will of course want to charge you a few hundred dollars for the phone.
