Big Pharma Patents Cannabis Cancer Treatment

Big Pharma patents cancer treatment

Big Pharma has patented the exclusive rights to a cancer cure using cannabis, preventing others from using THC and CBD to treat the disease.

British company, GW Pharmaceuticals, had previously developed cannabis-based drugs for multiple sclerosis and epilepsy. Now, they hold the rights to treat cancer.

Rxleaf.com reports: That’s right. Big Pharma now holds the patent for cancer treatment using cannabis. Let. That. Sink. In. For. A. Moment.

In 2009, GW went forward with a patent application, alongside collaborator Otsuka Pharmaceutical.  At the end of September, GW  announced that they had received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent Office to go forward with production of their cannabis-based cancer treatment, Sativex.

The Treatment

Numerous studies have shown that cannabis can be used to treat cancer by eradicating cancer cells and stopping metastasis, in most types of cancer. The latest GW drug will harness the power of THC and CBD to treat gliomas, which are a rare form of brain cancer.

The now-patented pharmaceutical uses a ratio of THC and CBD ranging from 1:1 to 1:20 (THC:CBD) to “reduce cell viability, inhibit cell growth or reduce tumor volume”, according to the company. It is interesting to note that GW’s treatment, Sativex, grew out of a long history of pre-clinical trials and anecdotal evidence that show the use of cannabis and cannabis-based products for tumor reduction.

The company went ahead with clinical trials in August 2018 to test the efficacy of Sativex. This trial will look at efficacy of Sativex when combined with more traditional mainstream cancer treatments. Sativex and the chemotherapy drug, temozolomide, has been administered to 20 patients with recurrent glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). This is a rare and very deadly type of brain cancer.

The Patent

The original patent application was sent in 2009, but has been subsequently changed to accommodate FDA requirements. Changes would include specifics like THC and CBD ratios in the medication, as well as the forms of cancer that Sativex may be able to treat.

What Does This Mean for Cancer Research?

On the positive side, the patent recognizes the value of cannabis for cancer treatments, and not just as a way to counteract the effects of chemotherapy and radiation. Cannabis’ efficacy for killing cancer cells must now be recognized on a federal level. This also allows for more options for cancer patients in choosing their treatments.

It’s a potentially exciting time for cannabis research! Look out for more patents, more clinical trials, and even more cannabis-based medications hitting the market. Keep pushing for access to whole plant medicine.

Connecticut Democrats Propose 50% Tax on Ammunition

by Richard Moorhead, Big League Politics: Two Connecticut Democrats have proposed legislation that could serve as the progressive left’s most effective form of backdoor gun control yet, if implemented. State Senator Will Haskell and State Representative Jillian Gilchrest declared their intentions last week to sponsor a bill that would tax the sale of all forms of ammunition in Connecticut at […]

BuzzFeed’s Trump Story Latest In Long List Of Russia Bombshells That Weren’t

BuzzFeed News’ latest disputed report about former Trump attorney Michael Cohen is just the latest in a long line of Russia “bombshells” that turned out to be anything but.

The Special Counsel’s office disputed a Thursday night report by BuzzFeed claiming that President Donald Trump directed his lawyer to lie about a potential business deal in Moscow during the 2016 presidential campaign.

The BuzzFeed report was used to float impeachment proceedings and obstruction of justice charges against the president, but Mueller’s team disputed the core premise of the reporting.

“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate,” spokesman Peter Carr said in a statement to The Daily Caller News Foundation.

BuzzFeed is currently standing by the story, but unfortunately for the press, the obsession to prove collusion has dampened their journalistic abilities, leading to a seemingly endless list of corrections, retractions and apologies.

We’ve compiled a list of some of the worst media screwups when it comes to Russia.

1. CNN Accuses Don Jr. Of Wikileaks Collusion

Last December, CNN’s Manu Raju reported that Wikileaks emailed Donald Trump Jr. to give him access to stolen documents a full ten days before they were released to the public.

Unfortunately for CNN, it turns out their sources gave them the wrong date. Don Jr. actually received an email with access to the stolen docs on Sept. 14, 2016, after they had already been released publicly.

2. ABC Tanks Stock Market With Fake Flynn News

ABC was forced to suspend Brian Ross after he falsely reported that former national security adviser Michael Flynn was prepared to testify that then-candidate Donald Trump ordered him to make contact with the Russians.

The stock market dropped a few hundred points at the news — but it turned out to be fake.

ABC clarified that Flynn was actually prepared to testify that Trump asked him to contact Russia while the administration was transitioning into office. Pretty standard preparation for an incoming president.

3. The Mooch Is NOT Under Investigation

CNN earns another spot on this list for their shoddy reporting about former Trump adviser Anthony Scaramucci. In June, CNN relied on a single unnamed source to claim that Scaramucci was under investigation for a meeting he took with a Russian banker prior to Trump’s inauguration.

The Mooch denied the story and CNN later gave him a much-deserved apology. Oh… and three CNN employees resigned over the botched piece.

4. Bloomberg’s Dirty Deutsche Bank Scoop

Bloomberg initially reported in December that special counsel Robert Mueller had “zeroed in” on Trump by subpoenaing Deutsche Bank records for the incoming-president and his family.

Bloomberg later admitted that Mueller was looking for records relating to “people affiliated” with Trump.

5. Sessions Exonerated

Last May, CNN was sure that Attorney General Jeff Sessions had botched protocol when he didn’t list meetings he had with the Russian ambassador on his security clearance forms. To CNN and other establishment media outlets, this was proof that Sessions was hiding something related to Russia.

A little over six months later, CNN quietly walked back the scandal, explaining the FBI sent emails informing Sessions’ aide that he did not need to disclose the meetings on his forms because they were carried out in the course of his duties as a senator.

6. Russians Aren’t Just Hacking The Election — They’re Hacking Our Power Grid

The Washington Post claimed in January 2017 that Russians were hacking the U.S. power grid through a company in Vermont, only to change the story to say that only one laptop was infiltrated. It turns out that one laptop was never even connected to the power grid.

7. Republicans Funded The Dossier!

A number of news outlets have consistently claimed that Republicans initially paid for the anti-Trump Steele dossier, failing to note that Steele wasn’t even contracted by Fusion GPS until after the GOP donors pulled funding. The Republican donors say they paid Fusion for standard opposition research and that they have zero connection to the controversial dossier.

The media has perpetuated this falsehood so consistently that even former FBI director James Comey was confused, repeating the lie in an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier.

8. CNN’s Gets Comey Prediction Wildly Wrong

Prior to former FBI director James Comey’s congressional testimony last June, CNN asserted that Comey was prepared to contradict a key claim by President Trump — that Comey told him he was not under investigation.

Sadly for them, Comey’s prepared testimony was released with the line, “During our one-on-one meeting at Trump Tower…I offered that assurance [that he was not under investigation].”

9. The ’17 Intel Agencies’ Lie

The media perpetuated a false claim from presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for months, insisting that all 17 intelligence agencies agree that Russia interfered in the 2016 election. The New York Times, for example, rated that claim as true only to later say the exact opposite.

Only four intelligence agencies ultimately deemed Russia responsible for meddling because the other 13 have no business making judgments on the claim. As NYT succinctly explained, “the rest were doing other work.”

10. Manafort Notes Are A Nothing Burger

NBC botched its big scoop claiming that Paul Manafort’s notes from a meeting with a Russian lawyer included the word “donations” near a reference to the Republican National Committee.

Turns out that not only did the word “donations” not appear in Manafort’s notes, but the word “donor” didn’t either. POLITICO had to correct the NBC report, leaving the legacy network looking awfully embarrassed.

11. NBC Issues Cohen Correction

NBC issued a major correction in May on a story about wiretaps and Michael Cohen.

NBC initially claimed that federal investigators were listening in on Cohen’s phone calls, but it turns out they had what’s called a “pen register warrant,” which means they could see who Cohen spoke to on the phone but could not hear what was said. (RELATED: MSNBC Issues HUGE Correction To Michael Cohen ‘Wiretap’ Story)

BONUS: Did Cohen Go To Prague?

Questions are being raised about a recent McClatchy report that states special counsel Robert Mueller has evidence Michael Cohen visited Prague in the summer of 2016. The story would be huge because it would seem to corroborate the portion of the Steele dossier claiming Cohen visited Prague at that time to meet with a Kremlin official.

However, no other outlets have confirmed the report and even anti-Trumpers are questioning its sourcing. (RELATED: Here’s Why You Should Be Skeptical Of That Michael Cohen Prague Story)

Obama Judge Defies Religious Freedom, Blocks Birth Control Rules In 13 States

Although the Supreme Court ruled in 2014 that some companies were exempt from the Obamacare birth-control mandate, changing the rules allowing other employers to opt out of the requirement by the Trump administration didn’t fly with an Obama-appointed judge

by

An Obama-appointed federal judge has blocked the Trump administration’s loosened rules concerning an Obamacare mandate on birth control.

The Department of Health and Human Services created rules allowing employers to opt out of birth control coverage due to religious or moral objections, but 13 states and the District of Columbia fought it.

Employers in those areas, thanks to Judge Haywood Gilliam, are forced to offer health insurance that covers a range of birth control options, from the pill to intrauterine devices to emergency contraception, at no cost to patients.

The decision to block the rules issued Sunday by Gilliam. However, the leftist states fighting the change did lose in their quest to force the block nationwide.

“Anti-abortion and religious organizations had asked for the Trump administration to allow for certain exemptions to Obamacare’s birth control mandate.

“Some organizations oppose all forms of birth control and sterilization, while others oppose specific kinds, such as IUDs and emergency contraception, which they say are abortifacients because their labels say they can prevent a fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus.”

The decision in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California was issued in response to a lawsuit filed by Democratic attorneys general, and only applies to those states that were included in the lawsuit.

“The birth control mandate is an outgrowth of Obamacare. The law was written to allow HHS to decide what type of preventive care health insurance plans should cover without copays, and the Obama administration determined that all forms of birth control should be included.”

The obligation previously had exemptions for houses of worship, but not for businesses or nonprofit organizations, and any that didn’t comply would be fined.

In 2014, the Supreme Court ruled that “family owned and other closely held companies can opt out of the Affordable Care Act’s provisions for no-cost prescription contraception in most health insurance if they have religious objections.”

Likewise, just last month the US Court of Appeals upheld a decision that prevented a Catholic organization from conforming to the Obamacare policy.

However, Sunday’s ruling essentially defies that decision.

The Trump administration wrote its own rules that loosened the exceptions, allowing it to apply to any type of employer, but not for publicly traded businesses or government entities.

It seems to many people that regardless of the logic of the argument, liberals will try to stop any and all actions that this administration makes.

Where Will You Be Seated At The Banquet Of Consequences?

Authored by Charles Hugh Smith via OfTwoMinds blog,

To get a good seat at the banquet of consequences, the owner of capital has to shift his/her capital into scarce forms for which there is demand.

The Banquet of Consequences is being laid out, and so the question is: where will you be seated? The answer depends on two dynamics I’ve mentioned many times: what types of capital you own and the asymmetries of our economy.

One set of asymmetries is the result of the system isn’t broken, it’s fixed, i.e. rigged to favor the few at the expense of the many. There are many manifestations of neofeudal asymmetry that divides neatly into two classes and two systems, the nobility and the serfs.

A rich kid caught with drugs gets a wrist-slap, a poor kid gets a tenner in the Drug Gulag.

Upper-middle class households are tax-donkeys, paying high taxes and getting few deductions, while mega-wealthy corporations and financiers enjoy offshore tax shelters of the kind exposed by the Panama Papers.

The stock market operators use high-frequency trading to front-run the market and generate profits that are inaccessible to serfs with retail trading accounts.

And so on. Given that the nobility control the machinery of governance (so-called democracy), there’s no way for commoners to influence the neofeudal cartel-state asymmetries short of shutting down the entire system.

Which leaves the asymmetries created by the dynamics of the 4th Industrial Revolution in which new technologies and business models are destabilizing every sector of the old economy.

The core dynamic here is value flows to what’s scarce and in demand. The asymmetric returns on capital and labor are the direct result of what’s scarce and what’s not scarce and what’s in demand and what’s not in demand.

Ordinary labor and college diplomas are not scarce and therefore command very little premium. Ordinary capital is also not scarce, and hence the low yield on ordinary capital.

This is why your place at the banquet of consequences will depend on what kinds of capital you own, where you own it and when you own it, the size of your debt burden and the flexibility of your cost basis/structure.

Take a house as an example. A house is arguably a limited form of capital as it doesn’t generate an income unless you rent part of it out or conduct a business from home. It’s also very illiquid (costly to sell and the process takes months) and highly sensitive to conditions outside the owners’ control–interest rates, real estate bubbles and downturns, etc.

Let’s say the owner encloses the garage and rehabs the space into a rental studio. Now the house is a different form of capital as it has the potential to generate income.

Let’s say there are identical houses, one in a white-hot market with high demand for housing and the other in a depressed region losing population and enterprises.

In the high-demand region, the studio fetches $1600. In the low demand region, it fetches $400, if the homeowner can find a tenant at all.

Let’s say the owner of the house in the high-demand market decides to sell and take the capital gains that result from owning real estate in a high-demand market. Her neighbor hangs on and a year later valuations have declined 25% and buyers are scarce/nonexistent.

Where each owner gets seated depends on what kind of capital you own, where you own it and when you own it.

As I explain in my book Get a Job, Build a Real Career and Defy a Bewildering Economy, skills, experience and collaborative networks are also forms of capital. But like a house, the skills, experiences and networks can only generate high returns if there is a relative scarcity of these specific forms of capital and there is demand for them.

To get a good seat at the banquet of consequences, the owner of capital has to shift his/her capital into scarce forms for which there is demand. This is much easier to manage if the owner of capital has very little debt (and what debt they do have is fixed-rate and long-term), a very low fixed-cost basis/structure, willingness to learn, an appetite for risk and the flexibility to make radical changes to avoid declines in income, capital and control.

Foul-Mouthed Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib Was Funded by George Soros

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib is funded by George Soros

The foul-mouthed Congresswoman who referred to President Trump as a “motherf—-r” this week, rose to power via globalist billionaire George Soros.

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) failed to disclose her financial ties to Soros – as required by the House ethics committee – and also disclosed a lesser amount than what she actively received, according to a review of tax forms.

Freebeacon.com reports: The Washington Free Beacon obtained the most recent copies of tax forms for a number of Soros’s organizations, including the Open Society Institute, the legal name for the Open Society Foundations, the entity in which Soros pushes millions in funding to a number of liberal causes and organizations.

An expenditure of $85,307 to Rashida Tlaib in Detroit, Mich., from 2017 is shown on page 97 of the 321-page report to “to increase involvement of disenfranchised urban communities of color with their local governance process by creating a community benefits strategy for equitable development and creating a leadership training for impacted residents focused on negotiation skills and identifying leverage at the local level.”

Tlaib did not report any income in the amount of $85,307 on financial disclosure forms submitted as she was running for office, which identified the names of the sources that provided her income in three of four cases. Tlaib received compensation from the Maurice & Jane Sugar Law Center, Wayne State University, and Metro Solutions, the forms show.

However, the fourth reported source of earned income is marked as a “Leadership in Government Fellowship,” but does not identify who provided the payment.

A press release from 2016 shows that Tlaib was chosen for a “leadership in government” fellowship by Soros’s Open Society Foundations along with seven other individuals.

“The eight fellows, chosen from the senior ranks of federal, state, and local government, will work on a wide variety of issue areas: devising new ways to bring criminal justice reform to local prosecutors’ offices; developing new strategies for helping school children exposed to trauma; improving life outcomes for low-wage workers, immigrants, and boys and men of color; and closing the digital divide, and more,” the release reads.

A spokesman for Soros’s Open Society Foundations said Tlaib’s fellowship was terminated earlier this year when she informed the group she would be running for Congress..

Kendra Arnold, executive director of the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust, a Washington, D.C.-based watchdog group, said that Tlaib’s failure to report the source of her income is “problematic” due to rules requiring that the income source be identified.

Candidates are required to disclose the name of groups and organizations that provide their source of income, according to the manual on financial disclosure statements from the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Ethics.

“Identify the source by naming the organization, corporation, or other entity making the payment. It is not necessary that individual clients of a business be named, only the business itself,” the manual states on page 31. “For example, on Schedule C, an editor would report the name of the publishing firm as the source of earned income, not the clients for whom the work was performed. Describe the type of income as salary, commissions, fees, pension, etc., as appropriate.”

The $68,307 income marked for the “Leadership in Government Fellowship” on the financial disclosure forms is also $17,000 less than the $85,307 that was marked as being paid out by Soros’s group.

Arnold said this discrepancy is not as clear and could be the result of hard costs associated with the program.

“Filers must report the exact amount of income earned by them,” the ethics manual reads. “Filers are not required to report an amount for their spouse’s income; rather they should report “N/A” in the “Amount” column. Filers, however, are required to report the exact amount of an honorarium received by their spouse.”

Tlaib was paid $139,873 by Soros’s group in 2016, tax forms show. Between 2016 and 2017, Tlaib received a total of $225,180.

Tlaib did receive any income from the Open Society Foundations in 2018, Soros’s spokesman said.

Tlaib’s campaign acknowledged receiving the Washington Free Beacon’s inquiry but did not explain why the source of funding was excluded from her financial disclosure forms and why the amount is lower than what she actually received by press time.

China says detained Canadians ‘without a doubt’ violated the law

January 3, 2019

BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s top prosecutor said on Thursday that two Canadians detained after Canada arrested a Chinese technology company executive had “without a doubt” violated the law.

Authorities in Beijing had previously said the two men, Michael Kovrig, a former diplomat and an adviser with the International Crisis Group (ICG) think-tank, and businessman Michael Spavor, were suspected of endangering state security.

“Without a doubt, these two Canadian citizens in China violated our country’s laws and regulations, and are currently undergoing investigation according to procedure,” Zhang Jun, China’s prosecutor general, said.

Zhang said the investigation process had been handled “strictly” according to law when asked by Reuters at a briefing when the two men might be charged. He did not elaborate.

The two were detained after Canadian police arrested Huawei Technologies Co Ltd’s chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou on Dec. 1 in Vancouver, at the request of the United States.

U.S. prosecutors have accused her of misleading banks about transactions linked to Iran, putting the banks at risk of violating sanctions.

The Chinese government has only given vague details about the detention of the two Canadians, and it has not drawn a direct link to Meng’s arrest. It has demanded that Canada free her and threatened unspecified consequences if it does not.

Canada has said several times it saw no explicit link between the arrest of Meng, the daughter of Huawei’s founder, and the detentions of Kovrig and Spavor.

But Beijing-based Western diplomats and former Canadian diplomats have said they have no doubt the cases are linked.

Canada has said the detentions are unacceptable and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said China should free the men.

Under Chinese criminal procedure law, special forms of detention and interrogation can be used for state security suspects.

China touts the rule of law, but its judicial system is tightly controlled by the ruling Communist Party.

Rights groups say conditions in Chinese detention facilities are often basic and can be harsh, with lack of legal representation and due process compounding worries about treatment.

The Mock Democracy

Authored by Rainer Mausfeld, translated by Terje Maloy via Off-Guardian.org,

The citizens are disenfranchised and conditioned to be politically apathetic consumers. In recent decades, democracy has been replaced by the illusion of democracy. New forms of organization of power and psychological methods for manipulation of our consciousness protect the powerful against the risks of democratic empowerment and strengthen their position.

Democracy and freedom. Two words that are charged with unheard-of social promises and that can release tremendous energies of change to achieve them. Today, hardly more than a shadow remains of the hopes originally associated with them. What happened? Never before have two words, to which such passionate hopes were attached, been emptied of their original meaning in such a socially far-reaching way. They have been falsified, abused, and turned against those whose thoughts and actions are inspired by them.

Democracy today really means an elected oligarchy of economic and political elites, in which central areas of society, especially the economy, are fundamentally removed from any democratic control and accountability; at the same time, large parts of the social organization of our own life lie outside the democratic sphere.

And freedom today means above all the freedom of the economically powerful.

With this Orwellian reinterpretation, these two words now have a special place in the endless dictionary of falsified words throughout history. With the poisoning of these two words, our hopes for a more humane society and a containment of violent ways of solving things are confused, clouded, broken and almost wiped out from the collective memory. The loss of the civilizing dreams associated with these two concepts makes it hard for us today to politically articulate an attractive, decent alternative to the prevailing power relations, or even worse, think of any at all.

Democracy, which was originally associated with great hopes for political self-determination and a safeguarding of internal and external peace, is left only as a formal shell in the real structure of society. Democracy has been reduced to a staged spectacle of periodical elections, where the population can choose from a given «elite spectrum». Real democracy has been replaced by the illusion of democracy; free public debate has been replaced by opinion- and outrage-management. The guiding principle of the responsible citizen has been replaced by the neoliberal ideal of the politically apathetic consumer.

Of the hopes associated with the concepts of democracy and freedom, only the empty words of a false promise have been retained by the powerful; with these words it is possible to effectively manipulate the consciousness of the subjugated majority.

International law has also today largely developed into an instrument of undisguised power politics. The self-declared ‘Western community of values’ has openly reverted to its almost religious belief in the effectiveness of violence, the wholesomeness of bombs and destruction, drone killings and torture, support for terrorist groups, economic strangulation, and other forms of violence that serve their purposes. This is a political fetishization of violence, whose effects can be seen all over the globe.

Hardly more than a historical memory is left of the great hopes originally associated with democracy and international law, namely, the hopes that civilization could contain power and violence. The populace is all the more being forcefully convinced of the political rhetoric of democracy and international law, with which the economically or militarily strong seek to win the consent or tolerance of the populace for their actual practice of a violent realpolitik. In today’s realpolitik, the right of the strongest has again long been accepted.

Two hundred years after the Enlightenment, which we praise so much our political rhetoric, we live in a time of radical counter-enlightenment. At the same time, when it serves their power interests, the powerful like to refer to the Enlightenment in order to affirm their claimed civilizational superiority over those they consider to be their enemies.

An elitist democracy is a contradiction in terms. While there are formal democratic elements in an elitist democracy, they are structurally kept to a minimum. Despite this minimalistic democracy, from the point of view of the actual economic and political centers of power, democratic elements are not necessarily as risk-free as they would like.

So in order for the present power elite to secure their status, they are dependent on securing themselves against democratic aspirations.

The weak point is now the public debate space, which – especially in the periodic elections – could potentially become a risk against stability. How can this be controlled in an elitist democracy? How can the risk that democracy potentially poses be kept as low as possible? If the remaining democratic residual elements were removed, it would no longer be possible to maintain the democratic rhetoric useful for preventing revolution; for public debate and periodic elections are indispensable even for the mere illusion of democracy. So if the real centers of power want to keep these formalities, they need appropriate ways to build stability that can make democracy risk-free for them.

Over the past few decades, the powerful have made great efforts to develop new ways of securing such stability, in order to protect the democratic residual elements remaining in elitist democracy from the risks posed by democratic empowerment.

These include, in particular, novel structural forms of organizing power, as well as psychological methods for manipulating our consciousness. Of course, the roots of these developments go much further back, but these developments have accelerated rapidly and become institutionally solidified in recent decades. The social transformation process associated with these things is similar to the effects of a «revolution from above», i.e. a revolution that represents a project of the economic elites and serves to expand and consolidate their interests. The transformation process that accompanies this revolution essentially rests on two pillars.

The first pillar of this transformation process is that the organizational forms of power are designed more abstractly and with a purposeful diffusion of social responsibility, so that the unease, indignation or anger of those ruled can find no concrete, i.e. politically effective, targets. Thus a will for change in the population can no longer find expression among the actual decision-makers.

This process of transformation consists of a creeping – and for the populace as invisible as possible – creation of suitable institutional and constitutional structures. With these structures, power relations can be stabilized and the redistribution processes permanently removed from democratic access, and thereby be made largely irreversible. For this, the democratic structures historically won after hard struggles must be eliminated or eroded, so that their effectiveness is neutralized.

In addition, domestic and international law must be ‘developed’ in such a way that the centers of economic and political power can legally enforce their interests authoritatively in the legal framework thus created. In particular, a legal framework must be created to enable the transformation of economic power into political power, and to provide a legal framework for the desired or already established upwards redistributive mechanisms, so that the minimum remaining democratic possibilities cannot undo them.

The organized crime of the propertied class is not only legalized by such lawmaking, but also protected for the future and sealed against possible democratic interventions.

The second pillar is the development of sophisticated and highly effective techniques that can in a targeted way manipulate the consciousness of the ruled. Ideally, those who are ruled should not even know that there are centers of power behind the political surface, presented by the media, of seemingly democratically controlled power. The most important goal is to neutralize any social will to change in the population or divert their attention to politically insignificant goals.

To achieve this in the most robust and consistent way possible, manipulation techniques aim for much more than just political opinions. They aim at a purposeful shaping of all aspects that affect our political, social and cultural life as well as our individual ways of life. They aim, as it were, at the creation of a «new human being» whose social life is absorbed in the role of the politically apathetic consumer.

In this sense, they are totalitarian, so that the great democracy theorist Sheldon Wolin rightly speaks of an «inverted totalitarianism», a new form of totalitarianism, which is not perceived by the population as totalitarianism. The techniques for this have been and are being developed for about a hundred years, at great expense and with substantial involvement from the social sciences, whose importance in society is closely linked to the provision of methods of social control.

A central element of these techniques for manipulating the consciousness of the population is the creation of appropriate ideologies that are largely invisible to the population as ideologies and thus provide a barely questionable framework that gives meaning to all the individual’s social experiences.

The core of these ideologies, culminating in neo-liberal ideology in recent decades, is the ideology of an expertocratic «capitalist elite democracy», in which competent and well-committed elites should direct the fate of society in the most efficient manner possible.

Both developments serve to make power unidentifiable and therefore invisible, in order to undermine our natural mental defense mechanisms against being ruled by others. Both are characteristic of the modern forms of contemporary capitalist elite democracies.

We can only develop promising strategies of resistance to the current order based on power and violence if we sufficiently understand these new organizational forms of power. The same applies to the manipulation techniques, through which specific properties of our mind can be exploited for political purposes.

“Those gold belts mean everything to you and if you ain’t in the business to have one of them belts you got no business being in it.” – Steve Austin (The Steve Austin Show)

Stone Cold Steve Austin had Dave “The Ace of Belts” Millican on his podcast to discuss the art of creating a professional wrestling championship belt. Millican is a huge fan of professional wrestling. Millican was a young kid when he made his first championship belt out of cardboard. “One morning I flipped on the TV,” Mullican told Austin, “and I was watching Jerry Lawler and Dutch Mantell and I said, you know what, I need one of those southern belts. So I made myself on one of those versions out of the little, started with cardboard and aluminum foil and went from there.” Check out Episode 89 of The Steve Austin Show on Podcast One for more information.

Roddy Piper: Major Conspiracy for the New World Order

“They’re targeting the kids and they’re telling them how to think.” – Roddy Piper

Roddy Piper on The Alex Jones Show: Get Podcast

Former WWF/WWE and NWA champion “Hot Rod” Roddy Piper did an interview for The Alex Jones Show today. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of John Carpenter’s They Live, Rowdy Roddy Piper agreed that there is a “major conspiracy for a New World Order” that includes “mind control, trying to dumb down society. Drugging society. It’s a major conspiracy for a New World Order.”

“This is the kind of thing that needs to be exposed to America,” Piper told Alex Jones. “They need to know they’re trying to put us asleep.”

The “Hot Rod” never shied away from vocalizing his true feelings, “I don’t like to be told what to do but I like to try to do the right thing.” Roddy Piper has a history of doing the right thing and asking real questions when others in the wrestling business won’t. During a live segment for TNA Wrestling, Roddy Piper asked former WWF writer Vince Russo, “Did you kill Owen Hart?”

Roddy Piper was referring to the late Owen Hart, who died accidentally during a live pay-per-view for the World Wrestling Federation (currently World Wrestling Entertainment). Controversy is something the Scottish Canadian was born into, according to his WWE documentary film Born To Controversy. It’s clear that anywhere the rowdy one goes, the truth is sure to follow.

Along with Jesse Ventura, Roddy Piper is one of the only wrestling legends from the 1980s who never held the WWF Heavyweight Championship, though he did capture the Intercontinental Championship on January 19, 1992. In various documentaries Hulk Hogan claimed Piper didn’t want to do “serious business” back in the 80s. In other words, Piper didn’t let Hogan pin him during the peak of Hulkamania. Yet Roddy Piper had no problem doing “business” with Bret Hart years later in the early 90s when he let Bret pin him for the WWF Intercontinental Championship at Wrestle Mania VIII.

Twenty five years after starring in John Carpenter’s They Live, Rowdy Roddy Piper appeared on the Alex Jones Show to talk about a host of issues, including the brainwashing of our children, the conflict in Syria, Jesse Ventura’s discussion with the CIA and breaking into the wrestling business at age 15.

According to what Piper told Jones, They Live “was more about Reaganomics at the time…it’s taken on a life of its own…it never gets old as we see the world evolve…the same things happening over and over again. It’s kind of like the cliff notes to what’s going on.” Roddy said John Carpenter “is a big activist” who also believes in the possibility of alien life-forms.

Alex asked Roddy what he enjoyed most about starring in They Live. “Not the fight,” Piper answered.

They Live – Fight Scene

They Live is based on the short story “Eight O’Clock in the Morning,” written by Ray Nelson.

Piper then told Jones his favorite part of the film is when his “character looks and says I believe in America.” “That’s the biggest statement of the entire movie.” Piper also believes the New World Order is targeting our kids, “they’re telling them how to think.”

Alex asked Piper why some people are easily brain-washed and others are not, “You have to live within the system to be programmed.”

Who is They from Piper’s point of view? “They was the propaganda the world was shoving down our throats.”

Asked about Syria, Piper agreed it’s time to take a stand. “I think the real men of the world have to stand up and say, “I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.” It’s time to take a stand, boys.”

FBI quietly forms secretive Net-surveillance unit

FBI quietly forms secretive Net-surveillance unit –CNET has learned that the FBI has formed a Domestic Communications Assistance Center, which is tasked with developing new electronic surveillance technologies, including intercepting Internet, wireless, and VoIP communications. 22 May 2012 The FBI has recently formed a secretive surveillance unit with an ambitious goal: to invent technology that will let police more readily eavesdrop on Internet and wireless communications. The establishment of the Quantico, Va.-based unit, which is also staffed by agents from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Drug Enforcement Agency, is a response to technological developments that FBI officials believe outpace law enforcement’s ability to listen in on private communications.

Scientists report first evidence of flu in bats

For the first time, scientists have found evidence of flu in bats, reporting a never-before-seen virus whose risk to humans is unclear. 29 Feb 2012 The surprising discovery of genetic fragments of a flu virus is the first well-documented report of it in the winged mammals. About five years ago, Russian virologists claimed finding flu in bats, but they never offered evidence. If the virus mingled with more common forms of influenza, it could swap genes and mutate into something more dangerous, a scenario at the heart of the global flu epidemic movie “Contagion.” [Yes, and US bioterrorists are busy little bees, hoping life will imitate art.]

Will Ron Paul be last rival standing to Mitt Romney?

By Peter Grier, The Christian Science Monitor

Will Ron Paul be Mitt Romney’s last rival standing? We ask that question because if you sort through the Nevada caucus results, look at this week’s GOP events, add in a few financial disclosure forms, and shake, you can produce a scenario where Representative Paul outlasts Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum. That would make the Texas libertarian the only non-Romney to run all the way to the Tampa Republican convention in August.

Yes, we know Paul actually placed third in Nevada’s Saturday vote. He’d hoped to do better, placement-wise. He ended up with 19 percent of the vote. Ex-Speaker Gingrich got 21 percent. Mr. Romney reached the 50 percent threshold.

But look at it this way: That 18 percent is four percentage points higher than Paul’s 2008 Nevada vote. It’s also higher than prevote polls had predicted: A Las Vegas Review-Journal survey in late January had him at only 9.2 percent of the vote, for example.

NATO Doesn’t Yet Know How To Protect Its Networks

Wired
February 3, 2012

BRUSSELS, Belgium — America’s top generals and intelligence officers openly admit that they’ve got no way of keeping up with the onslaught of attacks on U.S. networks. But a visit to NATO Headquarters makes the American brass look totally l33t.

Officials with the transatlantic military alliance say they totally get that they need to protect their networks from online infiltration and assault. They’ve embedded the concept of cybersecurity firmly into their planning for “emerging threats.”

They just don’t really know what it means. Nor do they know what to do about a major online attack. “We need to think these things through,” concedes Jamie Shea, NATO’s chief for confronting what it calls Emerging Security Challenges, who lists cybersecurity as one of his top priorities.

Here at NATO Headquarters, the 2007 denial-of-service attack that took websites of member nation Estonia offline forms something of a template for worry. But there’s also a dawning recognition that online threats are more persistent than episodic, like with the digital economic espionage into western networks coming from Russia and China. But they don’t yet know what kind of malicious online action would trigger a NATO response.

They also don’t know what exactly is up to the alliance to protect. The U.S. military, for instance, has (sorta) promised to (mostlystay away from defending the civilian internet.

CDC Calls Morgellons’ Nanoworms a Delusion, Protects DARPA

By Rady Ananda
Activist Post
January 31, 2012

Imagine having the mental prowess to be able to create living filaments heretofore unknown, that can reproduce themselves, some of which come with identifying letters embossed on them, and then to make them extrude from beneath your skin, all against your conscious will.

Sound like science fiction?  It’s not, says the US Centers for Disease Control.

Despite having spent four years and $ 600,000, and using the world’s largest forensic database, the premier health agency reports it is unable to identify the source of the fibers emanating from those suffering with Morgellons. [1]

The CDC suggests that four out of a hundred thousand people — the rate of infection in Northern California — are imagining these filaments into existence.

Comprising an array of physical and mental symptoms [2], Morgellons is distinguished by novel fibers that protrude from the skin, causing lesions and sores that do not heal, or that heal very slowly.

“We conducted an investigation of this unexplained dermopathy to characterize the clinical and epidemiologic features and explore potential etiologies,” the paper explains. The only potential etiology suggested was that the patients were delusional:

No common underlying medical condition or infectious source was identified, similar to more commonly recognized conditions such as delusional infestation.

style=”text-align: left;” align=”center”>The CDC provided more information in its press releases [3] hyping the study than it did in the 300-word study published last week.  Its Unexplained Dermopathy webpage goes beyond what was reported in the actual study, saying there is “no evidence of an environmental link,” and promised to do no further studies. [4]

“People who suffer from Morgellons disease are NOT delusional no matter what the CDC or the mainstream press would have you believe,” says Jan Smith of MorgellonsExposed.com.  She’s suffered with Morgellons for over 13 years.

The image above is on her home page. “Ponder why a person with Morgellons disease would have tissue coming out of their body with embossed letters on it.  This photo is real and the sample has not been altered in any way. It is available for research and DNA testing.” [5]

The CDC study reported, “Most materials collected from participants’ skin were composed of cellulose, likely of cotton origin.”

One of the specimens extruded from Smith’s body was found to be composed of cellulose and GNA, the synthetic form of DNA. [6]  Glycol nucleic acid does not occur naturally; it is used to create synthetic life forms. [7]

But why would the CDC not know exactly the origin of the cellulose, instead saying it’s likely from cotton?  And what about the rest that was not cellulose?  The study provided no details.

The CDC sent the cellulose and unnatural fibers to the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, reports the Associated Press. [8]  AFIP has been collecting fiber samples and other forensic material for 150 years. [9]  Its 2011 budget was $ 65 million. [10]  Surely, if these novel fibers are natural or lab-created, the AFIP would know.  Apparently not.

AFIP is the same group that collected all the forensic evidence of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon and at the Pennsylvania crash site, under code name Operation Noble Eagle. [11]

The Center for the Investigation of Morgellons Disease, headed by Dr. Randy Wymore, was also unable to identify the fibers. The Oklahoma State University research center had the forensics team of the Tulsa Police Dept. compare samples to its database of 800 fibers and 90,000 organic compounds, without success, reports Natural News writer Barbara Minton. [12]

Though Wymore did not respond to my request for comment in reaction to the new CDC study, the Center’s home page still maintains that Morgellons “is frequently misdiagnosed as Delusional Parasitosis or an Obsessive Picking Disorder.” [2]

What is the CDC hiding about Morgellons?

What the CDC didn’t say in the public report is that those fibers are alive and motile.  They grow and reproduce, and have been shown to do so in a petri dish using certain visible light frequencies.  If delusions are creating them, that would be a first in human evolution.

Research conducted by Cliff Carnicom indicates that the still-unidentified fibers seen in Morgellons patients are the same as those collected after an aerial spray of chemtrails. [13]

After being cultured for five days, the fibers produced a sheen across the wine medium, right before explosively reproducing hundreds of new fibers in a 24-hour period. [14]  He later explored how these nanoworms feed on the iron in human blood, explaining that, “changes in iron and the utilization of iron in a pathogenic sense are at the heart of the Morgellons issue.” [15]

An arduous course of research led Carnicom to conclude that the nanoworms present in Morgellons patients represent an entirely new life form, and one that was engineered using features from each of the three Domains of life (Bacteria, Archaea and Eukarya). [16]

To bolster his argument, he refers to a Feb. 2010 disclosure by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) “to develop immortal ‘synthetic organisms’, as outlined in the unclassified version of the 2011 budget,” citing Wired.com:

As part of its budget for the next year, Darpa is investing $ 6 million into a project called BioDesign, with the goal of eliminating ‘the randomness of natural evolutionary advancement.’

“… The project comes as Darpa also plans to throw $ 20 million into a new synthetic biology program, and $ 7.5 million into ‘increasing by several decades the speed with which we sequence, analyze and functionally edit cellular genomes.’ [17]

If these unidentified fibers are some sort of top-secret nanotech military weapon, that would explain why no answer and no help will come from the CDC or the military.

Using Carnicom’s research, and others, documentarian Sofia Smallstorm (9/11 Mysteries) raised a singularly spectacular question at a speech last year:

Is it possible that Morgellons sufferers are those whose bodies are genetically rejecting these nano-engineered life forms, while our bodies are integrating them? [6]

That question must be noodling the brains over at the CDC and DARPA.  They must be wondering what is different about those 4 in 100,000 people whose bodies reject these synthetic life forms.  The report they didn’t reveal to the public is the one I want to read.

We do know that back in 2006, the National Institutes of Health listed Morgellons as a genetically caused disease, due to the presence of three copies of a chromosome rather than the normal two (known as trisomy).

This was found at the 5S rRNA genes located on chromosome 1, in the q42.11 to q42.12 region, according to the following screen capture by Jan Smith, who explains that a year later NIH deleted the webpage [18]:

Trisomy can result in mental retardation and physical deformities. [19]  Are  these bioengineered life forms causing rRNA to produce a third copy of chromosome 1 at q42.11 to q42.12?  Or, do Morgellons sufferers already have a third copy, and its presence is somehow forcing the nanoworms to leave the body?

Several people agree with Carnicom that these living fibers are being sprayed on us via the vociferously denied chemtrail program.  Morgellons patient Kandy Griffin, president of Morgellons Research Group, puts it right out there:

Morgellons is not a disease. It is a process. It is a form of forced/directed evolution of the human genome. It is the fetal stage of transhumanism, and it is upon us.

This stealth project is being carried out with the use of the daily chemtrail operations, which are happening globally.  There is no escape.  The chemtrail operations are terraforming the earth and everything on it, including you. [20]

There is hope. In the last section of Carnicom’s Thesis, he suggests several mitigation strategies that would apply equally to those who develop Morgellons and those who don’t, but who are likely assimilating rather than rejecting these bioengineered life forms. [15]
