Muslim Rep. Andre Carson Envisions Muslim Rep. Rashida Tlaib Becoming Speaker of the House

(CNSNews.com) – Welcoming his two fellow Muslim newcomers to Congress, Rep. André Carson (D-Ind.) on Thursday evening envisioned a future with 30-35 Muslim members serving by 2030, and with Muslims holding posts ranging from committee chairs to the presidency of the United States.

Speaking at a Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) reception in honor of himself and Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ihlan Omar (D-Minn.), Carson also spoke in defense of his “sister Rashida,” who has been under fire for using a vulgar expletive to describe President Trump.

Asked by a reporter what he thought about Tlaib “and what she said,” Carson said he had replied, “I love her, I’ve known her for decades. She’s a fighter and I stand with her.”

“And we should stand with her,” he added, drawing applause from the CAIR gathering at a hotel in Arlington, Va.

Carson likened Tlaib and Omar to superheroes who arrived at a time when he was feeling “all alone” after his then sole Muslim colleague, Rep. Keith Ellison, had stepped down to run for attorney general of Minnesota. (Ellison took up the post on Monday; Omar won the election in November to succeed him as representative for Minnesota’s 5th District.)

“All of a sudden I looked in the sky and saw Wonderwoman come out of nowhere,” Carson said. “And then I looked on the other side and I saw Storm from the X-Men come out of nowhere.”

“We’ve got firepower in Congress. We’ve got sister Rashida [Tlaib] in the House, and she’s tough.”

“She’s the kind of sister you take to a debate with scholars with you, because she’ll rock the house,” Carson continued. “She’s also the kind of sister you take with you if you’re about to get jumped, because she’ll fight too. That sister’s tough.”

Carson said it was important to have three Muslims in Congress, but that he would not rest until there were five more Muslims in Congress in 2020, and ten more by 2022 or 2024.

“In 2030 we may have about 30, 35 Muslims in Congress,” he said.

“Then we’re talking about Madame Chair Rashida. We’re talking about Madame Chair Ilhan,” Carson continued.

“Hell, we could be saying Speaker of the House Ilhan, Speaker of the House Rashida, Senator Rashida, Governor Ilhan, President Fatima, Vice President Aziza.  Inshallah [Allah willing].”

Carson described Tlaib and Omar as “powerful” and “smart.”

“They’re ready. They represent the next generation of Democratic leadership. They’re unapologetic about who they are, and they won’t bow down and they’ll never, never sell you out.”

Concluding his speech, Carson said every American Muslim has “a directive to represent Islam, in all of our imperfections, but to represent Islam and let the world know that Muslims are here to stay, and Muslims are a part of America. And we will have a Muslim caucus that is sizeable, that is formidable, and that is there for you.”

Appeals Court Rules On Transgender Military Ban

After a federal judge in Washington D.C. blocked the Trump administration’s policy of banning transgender individuals in military service, the District of Columbia Appeals Court has overturned that decision.

by

In a stunning upset for liberals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit overturned a federal judge’s decision that blocked the policy, claiming it may have violated the constitutional rights of transgender recruits and service members.

The three-panel court ruled that Clinton-appointed Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly was wrong.

“President Donald Trump announced in March that he would endorse a plan by former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis to restrict the military service of transgender people who experience a condition called gender dysphoria.”

A number of medical experts explain that the condition is incompatible with military service and Obama’s arbitrary move to allow those few individuals to serve was both dangerous and wrong.

The appeals court victory is limited, but is a major blow to the trans-culture-police who demand taxpayers foot the bill for their ‘feelings.’

The administration already has asked the Supreme Court to rule on the issue, and it will decide whether or not to hear the appeals on January 11.

The various court injunctions allowed the handful of transgender troops to join the ranks as of Jan. 1, 2018.

“Today’s ruling is a devastating slap in the face to transgender service members who have proved their fitness to serve and their dedication to this country,” said Shannon Minter, legal director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights.

The three-judge panel in Washington, D.C. said Kollar-Kotelly was ‘wrong to conclude that the new restrictions were essentially the same as the original ban, which she had also blocked.’

“It was clear error to say there was no significant change,” the judges wrote.

The new plan “appears to permit some transgender individuals to serve in the military consistent with established military mental health, physical health, and sex-based standards,” the court stated.

The American Psychiatric Association defines gender dysphoria as a “clinically significant distress” due to a conflict between a person’s gender identity and their sex assigned at birth.

And, many people recognize that a person’s opinions about ‘who they are’ are not the responsibilities of others, nor should other people be forced to go along with their delusions.

The ruling gives many people hope that the country is taking back some of its standards and culture that has been attacked under the guise of politically correct attitudes.

Murders In Washington, D.C. Jump 40% In 2018

As of December 2018, 160 people had been murdered across the Washington metropolitan area, up from 116 in 2017, a spike of about 40%, according to new data from the Metropolitan Police Department.

In total, of the 534 people shot in the nation’s capital through mid-December, 23% died, reported The Washington Post.

Out of control murders had been visible since the first half of 2018. In response, Mayor Muriel Bowser had to deploy additional officers in Spring to get ahead of the crime wave – traditionally in the summer months, to wards 7 and eight that had been experiencing spikes in violent crime. By early summer, Police Chief Peter Newsham said the region already experienced a 41% surge in homicides year over year.

“Just like when we had a spike in shootings and violence in 2015, we got all the agencies of the government coordinated to respond. We were able to drive that crime down then and we will do it again,” Bowser said during a Ward 4 “crime walk” in May, during which she spoke with residents about their crime concerns.

“We’re going to stop this little uptick in violence. Investigators are making significant progress in some of the recent violent cases we’ve seen in our city, so you’re going to see, we’re going to end up having a good summer here in the District,” Newsham said during the same walk.

By August, there had been 100 homicides in the District, compared to just 74 at the same time in 2017. One month later, there had been more people killed than all of 2017, with three months left in 2018.

City officials blamed the uptick in violence on illegal guns in the District. At a press conference in September, Newsham admitted that the current penalties for possession of an illegal weapon did not seem to be an effective deterrent. “The consequences of illegal firearm possession in our city is not changing the behavior. We’re arresting sometimes the same folks over and over again for carrying illegal firearms in the city,” he said.

Homicides in the District have been on a roller coaster over the last two decades, from a high of 262 in 2002 to a low of 88 in 2012. Now it seems that the violent crime trend is back.

While homicides soared around the nation’s capital, killings were mostly down in other nearby metros.

In Montgomery County, Maryland, homicides dropped from 21 in 2017 to 19 in 2018, while in Fairfax County, Virginia, fatal shootings fell from 18 to 13 across the past two years.

Maryland’s Prince George’s County saw one of the most significant annual drops, going from 80 homicides in 2017 to 60 last year. In the Arlington, Virginia, murders went from four to just three in 2018.

However, in Baltimore’s case, where wealth inequality, vacant homes, and homicides plagued the dying city, murders topped 300 for the fourth consecutive year. The wave of violence began not long after the April 2015 death of Freddie Gray, who died while in police custody. That triggered massive riots across the city, where the murders and violent crime have surged ever since.

It is certainly odd that in the “greatest economy ever,” out of control homicides are surging across the Baltimore–Washington metropolitan area, just a stone’s throw from the White House.

The JFK Assassination: District Attorney Jim Garrison’s Case For A Conspiracy

(POPEYE) In this broadcast from July 15th 1967 New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison responds to an attack by NBC News on June 19th 1967 prior to his trial of local New Orleans businessman, and possible CIA agent or asset, Clay Shaw on charges of conspiring to murder President John F. Kennedy. NBC News tried to discredit Garrison and his office in the minds of the citizens. In a desperate attempt at tainting the jury pool and making Garrison and his case irrelevant. Shaw was eventually acquitted by the jury. Be that as it may, Garrison was able to use his air time wisely and laid out his entire case for there being a conspiracy to murder President John Kennedy for the public to hear. He remains the only law enforcement official to bring anyone to trial in regards to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. To quote Jim Garrison, “let justice be done, though the heavens fall.”
