2 Army officers killed in Afghanistan helo crash 09 Jun 2012 Two Army officers based at Fort Bragg, N.C., died June 6 after their helicopter crashed in Qarah Bagh, Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Friday. Capt. Scott P. Pace, 33, of Brawley, Calif., and 1st Lt. Mathew G. Fazzari, 25, of Walla Walla, Wash., were assigned to the 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, according to a Pentagon news release.
